How do I book a session?

1) Fill out the BOOK NOW form below

2) I will contact you via email or by Phone to discuss dates and answer any questions that you may have. 

 3) You will be sent a link to the BOOKING PAGE to complete all forms and make the session fee payment while I reserve your date for 7 days. If you would like to meet in person to review and sign your contract and Model Release, we will set up a date to complete your forms together. That's all to it!

After you've completed the booking process, we will then discuss your session in detail, including location, time, themes, outfits, etc at our in-person meeting and/or via email.

What are the times for the outdoor sessions and why?

A typical session is about 60-90 minutes. For any outdoor sessions, I only shoot in the afternoon within 2 hours of sunset. The sun is at a better position and the golden hour is...well...golden. Most of my best works are taken in the afternoon and on cloudy days.   My other available time will be early morning, within 10 minutes of sunrise. This could mean starting as early as 5:00am-7:30am.  Lighting is so important in my work that it is my first priority over location. You can stand in the most beautiful location and still get a bad image if the lighting is bad. Some clients even suggests that we "look" for the sun when we photograph and I would tell them that I actually avoid too much sun. The sun in your face would make you squint, naturally. The sun that is too high up will show shadows on your face. A background with too much sun could create a harsh image that is not consistent with my style. These are only a few reasons why it's important that we schedule the perfect time.

What are your available days and hours?

To maintain the best quality of work and to ensure that I provide the best service possible, I only book up to 2 full sessions a week or 6-8 sessions/month. FULL SESSIONS usually takes place on a weekday or Saturday within 2 hours before sunset. Newborn sessions are done on weekday mornings.  Sundays are available for an additional $100 fee.

Do you allow for a change of wardrobe in between the session? 

Absolutely, you are allowed one outfit change during your session. This is why my sessions are UP TO 2 hours. A typical session usually last 60 minutes if there are no outfit changes. Most clients requires an average of 30 minutes to change, with larger families needing more time. However, I would  NOT recommend doing an outfit change if you have younger children, since it will lead to a longer session and may cause some stress for your child(ren) near the end of the session.

How long are the turnaround time for the sessions?

Within a week, I will share a sneak peek of your session, so be sure to follow my Facebook and Instagram page! For most session,  I take approximately 4 weeks to upload photos on the gallery, but it might take longer during mini session events and the holiday season. 

For prints and orders, it usually depends on the type of item and the time that it was ordered, but usually around 4 weeks from the client's order date. It will take longer for designed items such as cards, albums, books, and collages since I have them revised and signed off by the clients before submitting the order.

I can expedite images and orders for as early as one week for an additional fee.  

Expediting a session means that I will place your culled images on the top of the editing list and additional hours will be needed per day to complete your gallery. Each gallery takes approximately 20-30 hours to complete. I NEVER rush on my post productions as each image represents my best quality of work. 

What is your photography style?

My style is a mix between bold and fine arts. As much as I love editing a rich moody image, I make sure to add clarity and adjust the editing to the time of day and style requested. I do a good mixture of candids and posed images. I often allow my clients to stand together, then I would pose them only if necessary. Most times, I'd let them do their thing as it makes for the most honest and sweet photos. I do get a lot of "tell us what to do" during a session and in those cases I try my best to pose a few members.  My aimed is to avoid harsh lights in the faces, distractions, and awkwardness in a pose. Honestly, candids are still my favorites since it captures the most honest moments.

Why do you require a retainer fee to book the date?

First, it reserves your spot on my calendar and guarantees that I concentrate ONLY on your family for that date. Secondly, my prices changes over time so making the deposit and signing that contract guarantees you the current rate even if my prices have increased.

What should I (as a parent) expect when it comes to a session?

Expect to do some planning and some reading. I work with families and parents to ensure that their questions are answered along with working out outfits and themes.  I send out questionnaires, an e-mag, and emails to confirm themes, colors, location, etc.

It takes teamwork to create the best outcome. 

 It's called customized session for this reason.  On the day of the session, expect to do some interaction with your child, to help keep your child's attention towards me, and even jump in to play with your child if needed.   You will be involved even if it's a session only for your child. Some of my sessions does require some walking so bringing extra shoes to walk or a bag/stroller to help you carry additional items.

What if I need to reschedule?

If there are other reasons outside of weather that makes it difficult to continue with our session, you can reschedule your session and your deposit will transfer to your reschedueld session.  If there are situations such as a family emergency, or if the your child(ren) are ill, or if there is a business emergency, you can reschedule your session.

However, if you cancel your session and do not reschedule, you forfeit your deposit to offset our loss of business.  Cancellations or rescheduling must be submitted 24 hours before the session date/time or your deposit will be forfeited.

Showing up more than 20 minutes late will result in the cancellation of your session and will also forfeit your deposit and a new deposit must be placed to reschedule. 

The weather can be very unpredictable, so if there is a chance of rain in the forecast, I will contact you within the week to reschedule for another date.

What if the scheduled time is around my child’s nap time?

As a mom, I completely understand that nap time is very important to the well being and mood of a child. I've had clients schedule their session around their kid's nap time but remaining within two hours of sunset, which is perfectly fine.  Another trick that I tell my clients is to bring along snacks and to give it to them before the session. But, most of my clients schedule their child's nap time earlier just for the day to ensure that they get the best lighting during their photo shoot.

I used to book clients during other times of the day, but the result was not up to par.  I want to guarantee the consistency of my work as you see on my site, so throughout my booking, I try to make sure that I am the right photographer for your family.  

Will you allow us to see the photos before editing?

After your session, I carefully select only the best images to edit, removing duplicates and blurry images. I ensure that the selected images in your gallery will represent only my best quality of work. For that reason, RAW files and unedited Jpegs will not be release under any circumstances. 

   I've learned from a few photographers to point out that it's the same as ordering a cake from a baker and asking  for flour and sugar instead of the completed cake.

What are your locations and travel policy? 

I know that location is important so we will discuss what you have in mind. I love discovering new places, so if you have one in mind, please let me know. If you are open to ideas, I have plenty of locations that I know. There is a travel fee to any locations that is 30 miles from 92126 or 30 miles from 92591. Please request a quote before booking.  However, there are a few locations that I would LOVE to travel to for NO additional fee with a few exceptions listed. Please let me know if you would like to discuss any of these locations for your session.
